TODAY SEES the release of 'Somehow', the new single by Loughrea indie-folk quartet EVØKE, via the Limerick based music collective, BitDepth.
‘Somehow’ is another left turn for the band with its more stripped back arrangement of fingerpicked acoustic guitar, string quartet, and piano, in order to allow the listener to focus on the lyrics.
“I wrote this song a longtime ago after a close family member collapsed in front of me,” says EVØKE’s lead guitarist and singer, Keagan Forde. “Being so young at the time, I didn’t really know how to process it, but I had just begun writing music and naturally fell into writing about my own experiences, as a way to cope with the situation.”
The track was recorded by Joe Gallagher in GAF Studios, Tipperary, and was mixed and produced by Gavin Murray (Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets ).
EVØKE are Keagan Forde, Evan Forde (drums/backing vocals ), Michael Glynn (bass ), and Dylan Crean (banjo/backing vocals ). They have supported Ryan Sheridan, Mundy, Chasing Abbey, and enjoyed more than 40,000 streams on Spotify.
