Rachel Connelly releases debut single

‘Love For Me' is a reminder “to be kind to ourselves and to keep pushing forward”

LOUGHREA HAS one of the most vibrant music scenes in County Galway, having already produced Ultan Conlon and The Clockworks. To that list we can now add Rachel Connelly.

Rachel Connelly has just released her debut single, 'Love For Me'. It is now streaming on Soundcloud and Spotify, and was made ‘Track of the Week’ by Dan Hegarty on his 2FM show. The song has a strong 1990s alternative rock vibe, while the guitars and vocals meld well together to capture the sense of anxiety and frustration in the lyrics - a strong opening statement from this singer.

Rachel is a 19-year-old singer and songwriter who cites PJ Harvey, Elliot Smith, Billie Eilish, and Lana Del Rey as inspirations, while her lyrics deal with life as a young person and the toxic social media, anxiety, and self-doubt that can come with it.

Speaking about the single, Rachel said: “'Love For Me' is a reminder that through all of the noise we face in our day-to-day lives, it's important to be kind to ourselves, and to keep pushing forward.”
