United draw with Bohemians

John Caulfield's team face Cork City on February 25

Galway United 0 Bohemians 0

As the SSE Airtricity League season drifts closer Galway United's preparations continued with a draw against Bohemians at Eamonn Deacy Park.

United's first division campaign commences in a fortnight away to Cork City at Turners Cross on February 25.

Before then John Caulfield's side will have one further workout in Annaghdown on Sunday February 20 when facing Corrib Celtic.

In the windy west United enjoyed some encouraging moments during a hard fought opening period.

United went close early on when a Mikie Rowe free kick forced Bohemians goalkeeper James Talbot to make a decent save.

David Hurley was effective in the centre of the park alongside skipper Conor McCormack as United produced a defiant display.

In the second half Bohs' Kris Twardek's powerful drive struck the post as United survived a significant scare.
