Galway has been named among the 30 best student cities in the world for 2022 in a survey undertaken by university review website The Campus Advisor.
The survey saw Galway ranked 24th of the top 30 student cities globally, out of more than 2,500 cities reviewed.
Galway scored at total of 4.14 out of 5 in the review, making it the 24th best globally as well as 14th in Europe and second in Ireland, with Cork in 22nd place with a score of 4.19 out of 5.
Galway scored particularly well for student friendliness (4.64 out of 5 ) and nightlife (4.62 ). The lowest points were received for cost of living (3.4 ) and public transport (3.75 ). The city also scored well for amenities (4.25 ) and safety (4.2 ).
Of the Galway students surveyed, all - 100 per cent - said they would recommend Galway as a place to live. Similarly, 100 per cent felt the city offered interesting cultural experiences. Ninety five per cent said Galway had a diverse student population, with similar numbers commending the city for dining out (95 per cent ) and the variety of bars and clubs (94.7 per cent ).
Some 81.3 per cent felt there were enough job opportunities for students in the city.
