Pool lifeguard courses locations
The company has three main locations for its public pool lifeguard courses which take place every four to six weeks intensively. These are: Leinster - Sport Ireland Campus, Dublin; Connacht - Kingfisher Leisure Centre, Galway; and Munster - District Leisure, Silversprings, Tivoli, Cork.
Atlantic Coast Lifeguards has been operating public courses at these locations for more than 10 years and has trained more than 20,000 lifeguards to work in Ireland and internationally. The company does sometimes offer pool lifeguard courses throughout Ireland in smaller locations but these are at more varied dates.
Beach lifeguard course locations
There are three main locations for public beach lifeguard courses. Beach lifeguard training takes place in September, October, and November and participants are encouraged to book these months as the water and air temperatures are at their warmest. However there are also courses in March and April.
Beach lifeguard courses take place in Portmarnock, Dublin; Bundoran, Co Donegal; and in Kinsale, Cork.
Atlantic Coast Lifeguards strongly recommends the beach lifeguard courses based in Bundoran as these provide the best surf conditions. Other beach lifeguard courses take place in clubs throughout Ireland, but dates are more varied.
