Mazda has extended its popular promotion on the current Mazda3 until the end of June. It offers a €4,000 saving.
The Mazda3 is now available for under €17,000 ex-works, saving up to €4,000. The model specified is the Mazda3 1.6 Comfort 4-door.
Mazda is also continuing with its zero per cent finance offer on Mazda2 until the end of June. Mazda says that with monthly payments from as little as €299 per month on Mazda2 models only, its customers save money by paying no interest on repayments.
New Mazda3 versions on the way
Mazda debuted two new models from the new Mazda3 product range at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The auto press witnessed the world premiere of the Mazda3 with i-stop, Mazda’s fuel-saving start-stop system, as well as the new Mazda3 MPS, Mazda3’s high performance flagship model.
Mazda’s new idle-stop and go system, i-stop comes standard with the MZR 2.0-litre DISI petrol engine, and is the world’s only idle-stop system that uses combustion energy to restart the engine. After stopping the engine at a red light or in a traffic jam situation, it restarts using a combination of Mazda’s direct-injection technology, valve opening, piston, and crankshaft placement (with a quick help from the starter motor ).
Combined with minor measures like aerodynamic modifications, Mazda says that with i-stop, it saves up to 14 per cent on fuel consumption (combined cycle ) versus the current model. Mazda’s i-stop system also restarts the engine almost twice as fast as many current idle-stop systems.
The Mazda3 MPS now features improved fuel economy and emissions that satisfy Euro Stage 5. It has numerous exclusive new design details – like a new air-intake in the bonnet, a larger floating rear spoiler and wider tyres – for a markedly more expressive look on the outside.
On the inside it is updated to deliver a sporty and premium feel befitting the new Mazda3 flagship model. It inherits the high-performance 260 bhp MZR 2.3-litre DISI turbo petrol of the current model, but updated to use about half a litre less fuel per 100 km. It is also cleaner running with the world’s first single-nanotechnology catalytic converter, and it has a stiffer bodyshell, newly-developed tyres and improved steering for even more predictable handling.
The facelifted version of Mazda CX-7 SUV was also launched in Geneva. It has an enhanced design to give it an even more premium Mazda identity inside and out, and new technologies that make it even more affordable and fun to drive. It will now also be available with a choice of engines, which includes the next-generation MZR-CD 2.2-litre turbo diesel common-rail engine.
