Kumon students not alone maintained their studies throughout the Covid-19 lockdowns, but many continued to advance beyond their age using their individualised daily programme of maths and/or English worksheets supplemented by weekly Zoom mentoring. The annual awards ceremony, now held outdoors at the Galway Greyhound Stadium and compliant with all restrictions, recognises and celebrates the achievements of all students.
Those working six months ahead of their age are awarded bronze medals, two years ahead of their age, silver medals, and those working three or more years ahead receive gold medals. Students who complete the programme to university entry level receive specially framed certificates.
While the online offering continues to be popular, alternative face to face classes have resumed, with restricted numbers, on Tuesday afternoons in Westside Resource Centre (3pm to 6pm ) and on Saturday mornings (9.45am to 1pm ) in Ballinfoyle/Castlegar Neighbourhood Centre.
Families who are interested in developing students of all ages and abilities and can commit to a daily study regimen of circa 20 minutes may like to avail of a free trial to explore the Kumon adventure. The adventure starts with a free diagnostic test to find just the right starting point on the Kumon maths or English programme for your student.
