Upgrade for footpaths in Headford

Town receives €140,000 under the Active Travel Funding Allocations 2022

Upgrade and improvement works to footpaths in Headford will be carried out after the town received €140,000 under the Active Travel Funding Allocations 2022.

The Galway County Council will be able to carry out works on paths within the town; the continuation of the path out the Cong Road; and the installation of new paths on the Deerpark Road to tie in Caislean Laighean and Deerpark Woods estates; and install new public lighting.

Fianna Fáil Galway county councillor, Mary Hoade has welcomed the allocation. “This follows many years of representations for footpaths and lighting on the Deerpark Road,” she said. “I would like to give special thanks to the Tuam area office for including the project in the application.”
