Galway Community Circus free workshops

New series of workshops are for young people from migrant backgrounds in Galway

SUNDAY CIRCUS is a new, free series of circus workshops from Galway Community Circus, for young people from migrant backgrounds.

The workshops, which will run for eight weeks, are aimed at those aged between eight and 17. They start this Sunday, January 30, and run until March 27 (excluding February 27 ) in the Circus Hall, St Joseph's Community Centre, Ashe Road, Shantalla. Classes for ages eight to 11 run from 12.30pm to 2pm and classes for ages 13 to 17 run from 2.45pm to 4.15pm.

The aim of Sunday Circus is to support young people from migrant backgrounds in meeting and making friends with other young people in Galway. Participants will learn juggling, hula hoop, acrobatics, balance, while the workshops will also seek to help participants build confidence and social skills, and encourage active citizenship, creativity, and integration.
