New personal and professional development course for young people seeks applicants

GRETB Discover, Education, Empower, Progress programme to prepare 18 to 24-year-olds for the next step in training, education, or employment

DEEP, an exciting new course for 18 to 24-year-olds, aimed at improving personal and professional development, is being offered by GRETB in County Galway.

DEEP, the Discover, Education, Empower, Progress programme, is currently enrolling new applicants. It is centered around the individual needs of each participant to prepare them for the next step in training/education or employment.

The course combines accredited content with additional workshops. It is free and learners may be eligible for a training allowance, subject to eligibility.

Participants on the course can gain a QQI Level 4 qualification on completion of the accredited modules which include work experience, career planning, communication, and IT, along with other modules.

Personal development

.

Personal development is a key component of this programme with workshops/sessions on a wide range of areas including health and wellbeing, personal effectiveness, creativity and problem solving, goal setting, life skills, and team building.

It will also offer a variety of fun introductory workshops in areas such as digital creative media; art, craft and design; and science, technology, and engineering.

Individual learner needs are also catered for through the mentoring programme, counselling service, and literacy/numeracy support, if required.
