Fine Gael Councillor Eddie Hoare has welcomed the allocation of funding under the Galway City Council Sports Capital Grant Scheme for 2021.
In total €130,000 was allocated between 45 clubs in the city. The fund, which is operated by Galway City Council and administered through the Galway Sports Partnership, will see 29 sports clubs receive the maximum allocation of €3,500 with the balance of funding being distributed to a further 16 sports clubs.
“This is most welcome and will be a timely boost for all clubs receiving grant funding,” Hoare says. “Sport plays a massive role across all communities in our city and it’s vitally important that these clubs continue to be supported and encouraged to continue the great work they do.”
He concluded: “Well done to all club volunteers for progressing these applications and also to Jason Craughwell of Galway Sports Partnership for all his great work all year round with sports clubs across the city and county.”
