Appeal for witnesses to Eyre Square assault

On Friday December 17 at approximately 10pm a man was walking along the top of Eyre Square when it is alleged he was assaulted by another male who is described as being in his 20s and wearing all dark clothing.

There were a large number of people in Eyre Square area at the time at the Christmas Market and Gardaí are anxious to speak with anyone may have witnessed the altercation between the males or the alleged assault taking place.

Gardai are further appealing to any motorists, particularly taxi drivers who may have been in the area and may have captured the incident on dash-cam to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí. Anyone with any information is asked is asked to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.

Car stolen after city burglary

On Wednesday December 15 between 4am and 5am a house at Glenn Dara, Bishop O’Donnell Road was broken into. During the course of the burglary a set of car keys was taken and used to take a gold coloured Renault Clio from outside the property.

Gardaí in Salthill are anxious to speak with anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious in the Bishop O’Donnell Road area in the early hours of Wednesday morning or anyone with any information in relation to the burglary or the movements of the stolen gold Renault Clio.

Tools taken in Turloughmore garage break-in

Sometime between Monday December 13 and Thursday December 16 a garage at the side of a house at Ballyglass, Turloughmore was broken into.

During the course of the break in a red Elmac chain saw and an orange Stihl hedge trimmer were taken from the property.

Gardaí are asking anyone that may have seen any person acting suspiciously in the Turloughmore area between Monday and Thursday or anyone who may have been offered the Elmac chain saw and an orange Stihl hedge trimmer for sale to contact them at Oranmore Garda Station on 091-388030.

Copper rods taken in Ballybane theft

Sometime between Monday evening December 13 and Tuesday morning December 14 a building site at Ballybane was broken into.

During the break-in a number of large copper earth rods were stolen from the site.

The Gardaí are asking anyone with any information in relation to this theft or anyone who may have been offered any of the large copper earth rods for sale that they believe may be stolen are asked to make contact with investigating Gardaí at Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.

Appeal for witnesses to Oughterard road incident

On Saturday December 18 between 8pm and 8.40pm, a male was crossing the road at the pedestrian crossing in Oughterard village close to Joyce’s Supermarket when it is alleged he was struck by a car.

This beige-coloured car failed to stop and continued along the Main Street in the direction of Clifden before turning right onto the Glann Road.

Gardaí in Oughterard are very anxious to speak with the driver of this vehicle and are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please come forward. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Oughterard Garda Station on 091-557320.
