New exhibition from Anne Korff

Meditations – Roses of Hope goes on display in Kinvara over Christmas

MEDITATIONS - ROSES Of Hope, the new exhibition from Anne Korff is on display at The Courthouse, Kinvara, throughout Christmas.

Meditations – Roses of Hope is a series of paintings that were created during the Covid-19 pandemic. Each painting is a meditation using energy, colour, and shape, in order to try and bring each viewer a sense of hope and solace.

The recurring design of star and rose has its origins in Islamic art and architecture, and symbolises love and loss, memory, peace, and hope. It became a feature of Korff’s art after travels in various Mediterranean countries.

The artworks are composed of large paintings on paper, using acrylic paint with an underlayer of linocut stencil work.

The exhibition is open for viewing today (Tuesday December 21 ), December 22 and 23, and from December 26 to 28 from 12 noon to 5pm. The gallery is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
