Cousin Tablet release new single

Galway band follow debut single ‘Whatever Happened to Betty?’ with ‘Lost At Sea’

GALWAY BAND Cousin Tablet have released their second single, ‘Lost At Sea’, which finds the quartet joined by members of The Raines and The Waterboys.

The song was written by Galway/Mayo musician Donal Gibbons, who is also guitarist and vocalist with Cousin Tablet.

"I started writing the song based on a personal situation, but realised during the process that it was a much more common occurrence than I previously thought,” he says. “We're at that age now when our parents are getting old and we are also seeing some of our peers deal with the consequences of burning the candle at both ends a bit too much. It reflects on the realities of watching someone close to you fade away be it from old age, addiction, etc.”

The band - Gibbons; Stephen Monaghan (guitar ), Wil Merrigan (bass ), Jamie O'Neill (drums ) - are joined by The Raines’ Juliana Erkkonen on violin ), saxophonist Anto Thistlethwaite (The Waterboys, The Saw Doctors ), and pianist and Dave Clancy.

Cousin Tablet will play Campbell's Tavern, Cloughanover, this Saturday, December 18, where they will play songs from their forthcoming debut album. For tickets see https://www.campbellstavern.net and https://cousintablet.ie.
