Alan Murphy appointed new Galway WFC manager

The 2022 WNL fixtures will be released before Christmas

Alan Murphy will take charge of Galway WFC for the 2022 SSE Airtricity League Women's National League.

Murphy, Galway United's record league goalscorer and former manager, is an exciting appointment for Galway WFC.

Last weekend Murphy, a teacher at St Joseph's College 'The Bish' in Galway, steered the Connacht Schools U18s to interprovincial glory at the AUL complex.

Stephen Lally, who made a significant impact with Galway WFC in the second half of the 2021 campaign, will remain heavily involved with the club as a player and coach development director. Alanna Moran will become manager of the Academy.

Phil Trill, who guided Galway WFC U19s to a national league and cup double, will join Ballinrobe native Murphy's first team set-up alongside goalkeeping coach Adrian Cronin.

The 2022 WNL fixtures will be released before Christmas.
