companies are named in the nominations for the 2021 Generation Apprenticeship Employer of the Year. — Athenry’s Brady Family Butcher Ltd; the ICE Group and Western Management Centre; and Mayo’s Instrotec.
The awards showcase the talent and energy of Ireland’s thriving apprenticeship employer sector. The 71 nominees, represent more than 37,000 employees, across three categories: micro companies; small and medium and large enterprises.
Speaking ahead of the awards ceremony which will take place virtually in December, Dr Mary-Liz Trant, Executive Director, SOLAS said “Following a very challenging 20 months for everyone, we look forward to celebrating the resilience and vitality of these companies, and the critical role played by apprenticeship in the social and economic life of the country.”
Three companies have been nominated in the West region. Brady Family Butcher Ltd has been nominated in the “Small and Medium Enterprise” category. Situated in the heart of Athenry town, Brady’s have been providing quality produce to local families and businesses through three generations. They have been joined in 2021 by a new apprentice, ensuring that the family run business will be secure for the next generation.
Joining them in this category is the ICE Group and Western Management Centre in Galway. With over thirty years’ experience in providing a professional business training service, Western Management Centre is the leading business and health and safety training organisation in the West of Ireland. Their 60 strong workforce has been recently bolstered by the arrival of three new apprentices.
Lastly, Instrotec has been nominated in the “Large Enterprise” category. Over the past two decades, the Co. Mayo based firm has been a leading provider of Instrumentation and Electrical services within the commercial and industrial sectors, both in Ireland and Europe. Founded in 2000 by Donal and Donna Johnston, Instrotec has developed an impressive skills development programme and established a reputation in the growing Pharmaceutical and Micro Processor manufacturing sectors as the foremost contractor in the provision of Instrumentation and Control’s systems.
Over the past 20+ Years, it has become a leading provider of Instrumentation and Electrical services within the commercial and industrial sectors, both in Ireland and Europe. Danielle Dalton, HR Coordinator at the Firm said Instrotec is committed to supporting Generation Apprenticeship during a global pandemic and beyond.”
