Cars set alight in city

GardaĆ­ appeal for witnesses after incidents in Ballinfoyle and Circular Road

Gardaí in Galway are appealing for witnesses following two incidents of cars being set alight in Galway city - one taking place in Ballinfoyle Park, the other in Carn Ard, Circular Road.

On Thursday morning, November 25 just after 4am a silver Citreon C4 was set alight while parked outside a property in Ballinfoyle Park, Headford Road, Galway.

Gardaí are asking anyone who saw any persons or vehicle acting suspiciously in the Ballinfoyle Park or Headford Road area in the early hours of Thursday morning or anyone with any information in relation to the incident to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.

Possible arson

The Gardaí in Galway are investigating another possible arson incident that took place on Sunday morning November 28. Shortly after 6am, a black Ford Fusion hatchback and a white Renault were set alight while parked outside a house at Carn Ard, Circular Road, Galway.

The resulting fire also caused extensive damage to the exterior of the property. The Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in or around the Carn Ard area at around 6 am on Sunday morning or anyone with any information in relation to this incident to contact investigating Gardaí at Galway Garda Station on 091-538000 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
