Challenges continue to arrive thick and fast for Mountbellew-Moylough with joint captain Eoin Finnerty leading by example with accomplished attacking displays.
A first Galway SFC title in 35 years was secured following a splendid performance against Corofin, and subsequently Val Daly's charges survived a tricky test to beat Ballinamore in the AIB Connacht Club Championship.
Now a trip to Dr Hyde Park on Sunday looms for Mountbellew-Moylough, who have generated momentum. So an intriguing encounter with Roscommon standard bearers Padraig Pearses is imminent.
The manner in which Mountbellew-Moylough concluded the Galway Championship illustrated the considerable potential that exists in a developing team.
Knockout triumphs over Annaghdown, Maigh Cuilinn, and Corofin demonstrated Mountbellew-Moylough's ability. "We got two stiff tests in the quarter and semi, also in the group games," Finnerty says.
"We just about got a draw against Milltown, probably the other two results against Spiddal and Michael's flattered us. We got late goals to put a bit of a gloss on the scoreline. We are pleased because when you win Connacht titles you have to show character. Against Milltown and Annaghdown, especially, we did, the two after that were probably our two best performances. That is when you want them in the later stages of the Championship."
This journey started far from venues such as Pearse Stadium and Hyde Park. It is the culmination of more than a decade of sheer hard graft.
"It will probably be over the Christmas when we look back to reflect and think about it, a great day for the club, 35 years is a long time," Finnerty replies.
"A lot of people have put in a lot of time, a lot of players. In 2015 this group probably started coming together, from 2017 to this year it has been the same bunch of players really.
"We have only added Patrick Kelly and one or two others in the last couple of years, it is a lot of hard work in gyms and video analysis has finally come together, and we have got our county title now."
Val Daly's contribution to the Mountbellew-Moylough story is noetworthy. The star turn in the 1986 triumph, Daly is now the manager, having assisted so many footballers from the area.
"His biggest influence on this team is he had most of us when we were U10 until minor, he coached most of us, he taught us how to play football," Finnerty responds.
"I think that is where he had most influence along the way. Obviously he came back in the last two years, we got to a county final last year and this year. He is a great clubman."
The next generation are now providing encouraging moments for Mountbellew-Moylough.
