THE RAINES, the Galway Americana/folk trio release their new single ‘Always Snow On The Mountain’ on Friday November 26, and play the Town Hall Theatre on Friday December 10.
The Raines - Ruth Dillon (vocals,/guitar/ukulele ), Juliana Erkkonen (fiddle/vocals ), Yvonne Tiernan (vocals/ukulele ) - saw their first two singles, ‘Bare Feet On Grass’ and ‘Love Is Sublime (‘til It Draws Out Its Gun )’ hit No 1 in the iTunes Singer Songwriter Chart.
‘Always Snow On The Mountain’ was written by Ruth, was inspired by Slievenamon (‘women’s mountain ' ) and Clonmel, where she grew up, and is a story of marriage and family life in a small town. Joining the trio on the track are Cesar Benzoni (mandolin ) and Paul O'Driscoll (bass ). It was produced by Brian Masterson, who has worked with The Chieftains, Van Morrison, Willie Nelson, and The Bothy Band. The first live outing for the song will be at the band’s Town Hall concert in December.
