Man arrested in relation to Eyre Square firework incident

A young woman was injured by a firework and is understood to have suffered life changing injuries

A man in his twenties was arrested in Dublin yesterday in connection with the investigation into an incident in which a young woman was injured by a firework in Eyre Square last month.

The man was being held last evening at a Garda station in south Dublin under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The Garda investigation into the incident, which occurred on October 22 last, is ongoing.

The young woman, who was struck in the face by a firework while sitting at a bus stop in Eyre Square, is understood to have suffered life changing injuries in the incident.
