Aygo Cross arrives in Ireland in April 2022

The new Toyota Aygo X is a crossover unique in the A-segment, says Toyota, "designed and produced in Europe to meet the demands of urban and suburban life in Europe".

And to make the Aygo X the best product in the segment, the company says it undertook thorough research into urban driving requirements across the continent by listening to customers’ desire for a stylish, compact, and confident car.

The result is the newest compact car in Toyota’s line-up, built on the GA-B platform of the Toyota New Global Architecture which was first introduced with the new Yaris—the current Car of the Year 2021—and more recently with the Yaris Cross hybrid SUV.

Whether in the city or on open roads the A-segment car stands out by being compact and agile, and also integrates the best technological advances in a compact package that is economical to run.

With a one-litre petrol engine, the new Aygo X delivers all of this and more, Toyota says, " everything Irish customers desire from an A-segment car".

Toyota Ireland's marketing director Michael Gaynor, says with its "cool looks and ‘style icon’ credentials", Toyota believes it will be of huge appeal to first-time car buyers, offering a unique SUV styling.

“The Aygo has always been a firm favourite in Ireland with its attention-grabbing and compact design. The Aygo X, which replaces the outgoing Aygo, takes this one step further, combining new levels of style, agility and head-turning, youthful looks. We look forward to seeing the new model nipping around the Irish city streets and country roads when it arrives in Spring 2022.
