After a very successful run last year, Galway’s only youth arts festival is back, and is bigger and better than before.
TRIBES Youth Arts Festival is a multi-disciplinary arts festival promoting and developing high quality arts and cultural events for young people. The broad themes of the TRIBES festival include mind-body connection through movement and expression, issues of identity and mental health, and exploring worlds outside of the tribes we become part of as we grow.
This year's programme has a wide range of events and activities that will have something for everyone.
The festival is aimed at young people aged 14 to 22 years, with all events being free of charge, however advance booking is necessary and all Covid regulations will be implemented.
The festival will run on Saturday November 20 and Sunday November 21.
There is a full programme of events including Architecture At The Edge's designing future cities, breakdancing workshops with Barry Burke aka Bazzy B, a screening in Palas Cinema of We Did It On A Song/Chante Ton Bac D’Abord, and an interview with a cast member afterwards. GYT will perform new plays focused on the unprecedented times that young people are living in. There is something for everyone to get involved in.
