HAVE YOU heard about Fraser, the tallest fir tree in the forest? There is a new story book for children aged between six and 10 this Christmas - and all year - about a fir tree who longs to be picked as a Christmas tree.
Fraser! Not Way Too Tall After All! Was written by Joy M O’Hora and has been beautifully illustrated by Tuam native Mairead Brennan.
Fraser was written, according to O’Hora in 2019, but it was during lockdown in January 2020 when the words met the pictures. The book has met with praise, one reader describing it as a “treasure”, while children have been delighted to learn what happens when Fraser practices patience.
This very gentle circle of life story first appeared in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop on Middle Street, Galway, and Tertulia Books, Westport, Mayo - the first independent bookstores to stock Fraser.
Fraser is also available online globally.
