Appeal
On Friday October 8 there was an accident involving a vehicle and a bicycle around Duggan’s Shop in Renmore. This accident happened at around 1.45pm. The vehicle in question is believed to be a green BMW with a female driver. Gardai are appealing for the driver to come forward or anyone who may have witnessed the accident or may have dash cam footage to contact Garda McAvock in Galway Garda Station on 091-538000
Theft from MPV
On Thursday November 4 between 3.45pm and 4pm a white Mercedes van was broken into in Glenina Heights. A wallet with personal items and cash was stolen. Anyone who noticed any person acting suspiciously in the area around these times is asked to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.
On Saturday November 6 a grey Volkswagen golf was broken into in Hazel Park in Newcastle. A small quantity of cash was stolen from the vehicle. Anyone who noticed any person acting suspiciously is asked to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.
Burglary
On Thursday November 4 between 2pm and 3pm a burglary occurred at a house under construction in Feeragh, Belclare. During this break in a MacAllister kango drill and a MacAllister hammer drill were stolen. Anyone with any information in relation to this incident or who may have been offered these items for sale is asked to contact Garda Gavin Browne at Headford Garda Station on 093-35412.
On Friday November 5 in the early hours between 1.30am and 7.45am a house in Cluain Riocaird on the Headford Road was broken into. During the course of this burglary a PlayStation 4, a 42 inch Panasonic TV, a Lenovo laptop and a Toshiba external hard drive were stolen. Also taken were the keys to a silver Ford Mondeo. Subsequently this vehicle a 12WX3486 a silver ford Mondeo was stolen. This vehicle is still outstanding and gardaí are looking for public’s assistance in locating it or tracking its movements. Gardai are appealing for anyone who may have noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the area contact Garda Marvin Lee in Galway Garda Station on 091-538000. Also be mindful if you have been offered any of these items for sale.
Reporting road traffic offences
Gardai are seeking the public’s assistance in the reporting of serious breaches of the road traffic act. If a person witnesses excessive speed, dangerous overtaking or other acts that he/she deem dangerous that he/she reports the matter immediately to their local Garda station or on 999 should he/she see fit. In particular gardaí are appealing in relation to so called “boy racers” doing doughnuts and other dangerous manoeuvres. Immediate reporting is essential to allow gardaí to act, detect and deter these actions.
