Dangerous car stunts are being carried out on the N84, according to Cllr Andrew Reddington at Monday's County Joint Policing Committee meeting,
He said sections of the Curraghline have been "closed for a period of time" at night as drivers perform "doughnut" manoeuvres with some footage uploaded on to social media platforms.
Cllr Reddington added that CB radios were being used so the culprits move elsewhere once the gardaí have been alerted.
"The message should come out that this is serious," Cllr Reddington added.
Chief Superintendent Tom Curley said the roads policing unit would monitor the situation and that those driving without care and attention would be charged.
