‘Naughty or Nice’ - Pálás lines up a Christmas feast of films

Die Hard, It’s A Wonderful Life, Elf, Batman Returns, Gremlins, The Family Stone...and more

THROUGHOUT DECEMBER, the Pálás Cinema will be dedicated to spreading Christmas cheer by delivering big screen outings to such festival favourites as Home Alone, The Muppet Christmas Carol, and Die Hard - and yes, Die Hard is a Christmas film.

The full line up of films being screened for ‘Naughty or Nice are: Home Alone, Home Alone 2 (afternoon double Bill ), Elf, The Family Stone, Love Actually, It’s a Wonderful Life, The Muppet Christmas Carol, Die Hard, The Green Knight, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Gremlins, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and on Year’s Eve there there will be a screening of Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread.

There will also be a chance to see the Royal Ballet’s performance of The Nutcracker, featuring the stunning music of Tchaikovsky. The Pálás will also team up with Gugai from the Róisín Dubh for the ‘I Can’t Believe You Haven’t Seen’ screening of Batman Returns.

“It has been a particular delight to put together a season of Christmas films this year,” said Pálás programmer Charlene Lydon. “I’ve never been more in the mood to appreciate some of my favourite seasonal cinematic treats on the big screen.

"I’m looking forward to cosying up in a cinema with a seasonal beverage," Charlene continued, "and getting lost watching Jimmy Stewart running around Bedford Falls or indeed the Gremlins running amok in Kingston Falls or John McClane running barefoot around the Nakatomi Building. Christmas jumpers at the ready!”

‘Naughty or Nice’ runs at the Pálás Cinema from December 1 to 31. For booking and more information see www.palas.ie #NaughtyOrNice
