EOIN DOLAN, the Galway singer-songwriter who Nialler9 said “channels the Beach Boys’ sunny warmth like no other”, is back with his fourth album.
Mirror Liver, released in association with the Galway based collective Citóg Records, explores themes of love, mysticism, and the lives of people who lived during the Neolithic/Bronze Age eras in Europe. This is particularly evident on new single, 'Amulet of Love', inspired by the lives of farmers c3,000 years ago.
“It’s a message celebrating our timeless and important relationship with the natural world,” says Eoin. “From an early age I’ve always had a massive interest in history. This record gave me an opportunity to explore the eloquent cyclic harmony of nature in all its glory, through stone monuments and hidden messages throughout our land. The human condition has remained largely unchanged through the ages and I wanted that to be at the forefront of my thinking when it came to the creation of Mirror Liver.”
'Amulet of Love' has already received airplay from Cathal Murray on RTÉ Radio 1 and Gary Crowley on BBC Radio London.
Eoin, who has been praised by MOJO as “effortless melodies [and] West Coast pop warmth", and been hailed by The Thin Air as “one of the country’s finest songwriters”, cites Vashti Bunyan, Donovan, and Super Furry Animals as inspirations.
Mirror Liver was recorded, mixed, and produced by Eoin Dolan, and the accompanying musicians are Conor Deasy (keyboards ), James Casserly (drums ), Adam Sheeran (bass ), and Kieran O’Brien (synthesizer ).
