Canney ‘deplores’ attitude of NTA in X20 reply
Galway East dep
uty Sean Canney has questioned the attitude of the National Transport Authority (NTA ) and has described their attitude as deplorable.
In a written response to a Dáil Question, the NTA have stated that the loss of the service Expressway 20 / X20 would have limited impact and that no interventions are required.
“It is deplorable that the NTA are so casual in their attitude They along with the Minister for Transport are charged with the licensing of the routes,” said Dep Canney.
“The Minister is also standing by whilst rural transport is suffering again. Minister Ryan is all about changing the mode of transport and is putting carbon tax charges onto people using cars”.
“If we are to have such taxes, we need to give all citizens access to public transport”.
