Galway WFC away to Shels

Stephen Lally's team has three fixtures left in the 2021 WNL

Only three WNL fixtures remain for Galway WFC, who are away to Shelbourne at Tolka Park on Saturday evening (7.30pm ).

Noel King's Shelbourne currently sit in third place in a compelling title race behind leaders Peamount United and Wexford Youths.

Earlier this month Stephen Lally's Galway WFC were unfortunate to lose a hard fought FAI Cup semi-final at the Drumcondra venue.

That was a disappointment for Galway, who have made considerable progress during the second half of the campaign. To illustrate Galway's development Savannah McCarthy has made a welcome and impressive return to senior international action with the Republic of Ireland.

Therese Kinnevey, Shauna Brennan, Kate Slevin, and Nicole McNamara were involved in Dave Connell's Irish U19 squad during the UEFA European Championship qualifiers in Limerick in the past week also.

Despite losing in the Cup, Lally's Galway will still want to finish the campaign strongly. Matches against Shelbourne and Peamount arrive either side of an Eamonn Deacy Park encounter with Tommy Hewitt's improving Athlone Town.
