Vintage ring stolen in Ardrahan burglary
Sometime between Sunday September 18 and Sunday October 10 a house at Roughaun, Ardrahan was broken into. During the course of the burglary, a vintage three diamond gold ring was stolen from the property.
This ring holds a great deal of sentimental value to the owner and gardaí are asking anyone who could help them with their investigation or anyone with any information in relation to the stolen vintage three diamond gold ring to contact them at Gort Garda Station on 091-636400.
On Monday October 11 between 4.20pm and 5.10pm a house at on the main Ballinderreen to Kilcolgan Road, close to Kilcolgan village was broken into. During the course of the break-in a rose gold bracelet was stolen from the property.
A red car was observed in the area at the time of the burglary. This car left the area and drove off in the direction of Ballinderreen. Gardaí in Gort are asking anyone who may have seen any persons acting suspiciously in the Kilcolgan area on Monday October 11 or anyone who may have been offered the rose gold bracelet for sale to contact them at Gort Garda Station on 091-636400.
At approximately 1.40am on Saturday October 16, a house at College Road was broken into. During the course of the burglary a white Sony laptop was taken from the property. Gardaí are asking anyone that may have been travelling in the College Road area in the early hours of Saturday morning and may have seen anything suspicious or anyone with any information about the stolen white Sony laptop to make contact with investigating gardaí. Passport and iPhone taken from car in city
Sometime between 10.30pm on Monday October 11 and 9am on Tuesday October 12 a silver Toyota hatchback was broken into while parked on the street in College Road.
A passport, the vehicle log book and an Apple I-Phone 6 were among the items taken from the vehicle during the theft. Gardaí are asking anyone that may have seen anything unusual or anyone with any information that could help with the investigation to contact them at Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.
Sometime between 10pm on Tuesday October 12 and 7am on Wednesday October 13, a grey Volkswagen Golf was broken into when parked in the driveway of a house at The Meadows, Ballybrit.
A black leather wallet with personal items was taken from the vehicle. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have seen this theft taking place or anyone who may have been in or around The Meadows and may have noticed anything to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.
Advice for motorists this Bank Holiday Weekend
On Friday An Garda Síochána announced details of Operation Teorainn, a new national road safety enforcement operation targeting driver behaviour for the remainder of 2021. The aim of Operation ‘Teorainn’ is to reduce serious injury and fatal road traffic collisions by focusing on high visibility enforcement of road traffic legislation and targeting poor and dangerous driving behaviours.
The focus of Operation ‘Teorainn’ will include the offences of speeding, driving while intoxicated, seat belt offences and use of a mobile phone while driving.
This Bank Holiday weekend gardaí will be out in force at checkpoints across the county and An Garda Síochána is appealing to all road users to take extra care while driving. Gardaí appeal to all motorists to slow down, always wear their seatbelts, not to use you mobile phone while driving and not to drink and drive.
