Galway United and Brothers of Charity embrace Sport for All initiative

Last Friday morning saw the first cross collaboration between two very different organisations when Galway United’s Community Officer Micheal Murphy and Tom Halligan from the Brothers of Charity linked together to organize “Sport for All” a concept which is allows people of all abilities to engage in sport and top quality coaching sessions.

Jason Murphy Galway United Under 14 Coach kindly offered his services to organise and coach the sessions.

“The willingness to learn as well as the enjoyment by all was a sight to behold. This was one of the first opportunities to engage in social interaction post lockdown for many of our participants,” said Micheal Murphy, Galway United Community Officer. “There was a great sense of community fostered at the all weather sports facilities in Westside which was clear for all to see.”

However, the highlight of the event was undoubtedly provided by Ré COFFEE + DESIGN Salthill which is owned by sisters Sinead Curran and Dympna Dickson who kindly offered top quality coffee as well as delicious treats for all involved.
