Join St Angela’s College virtual open day on October 22

College open days are hugely important as prospective students explore options when deciding their CAO preferences, and although venues are gradually opening up again, St Angela’s College,Sligo, will once again offer a virtual event for those interested in the courses available for 2022.

This online event welcomes students, parents/guardians, and guidance counsellors to join information talks based on the range of undergraduate courses on offer including general nursing; intellectual disability nursing; nutrition, food and business management; home economics; as well as a range of home economics teacher education courses with an additional subject (biology, religious education, and Irish ). In addition, the college will be inviting CAO applicants to consider its new home economics (single-subject ) teaching education course, starting in September 2022. Other talks on the day will include optional pathways, student supports, disability and learning support, and Erasmus+ (study abroad ) opportunities.

"With the success of our previous virtual events, we want to use our online platform once more as we continue to recognise the importance of reaching out to future students considering their college options," explained Seán Kelly, student recruitment, St Angela’s College. "We hope that students come prepared with questions as they would at a real event and that when they leave, they’re satisfied with the information they received and feeling positive about their course choices."

Following each talk, open day guests can join college students and staff on the live chat platform to answer any questions or concerns they may have about living and studying in Sligo.

Exciting and positive developments are happening within higher education in the northwest which includes St Angela’s College. The college has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with plans to be incorporated with IT Sligo as it progresses towards becoming a technological university (TU ) in early 2022. This potentially means that students joining St Angela’s College in September 2022 will be starting a degree that is accredited by the TU. The quality and high standard of learning for students will remain the same as will the course content and structures.

St Angela’s College virtual open day will take place on Friday October 22 from 12 noon to 3pm. Register now using the QR code in this week’s advertisement or simply visit www.stangelas.nuigalway.ie
