John Soden exhibition

Artist to exhibit new works at Anton’s Café on Fr Griffin Road

THE ARTIST John Soden will exhibit new works, depicting “everyday scenes I come across through the exploration of colour and its application onto the canvas”.

The exhibition takes place at Anton’s Café, Fr Griffin Road. The works reveal the influence of Impressionism and have been done in acrylic paint.

“Acrylic allows me to lay down thick brush strokes that bring depth and expression to the canvas,” says Soden. “The quick drying time of acrylics allows me to apply layers quickly to create depth and obtain a rich, vibrant colour.”

They also reflect Soden’s interest in the colours created from changing light. “ In my paintings,” he says, “I strive to capture the mood and energy of what I see through the use of colour and expressive brushstrokes.”

The exhibition will run for four weeks.
