FROM IDA Lupino’s The Hitch-Hiker to Coralie Fargeat’s Revenge, and Mary Harron’s cult classic American Psycho, the Pálás is set to deliver a season of horror films by women filmmakers.
The Samhain na Mban - Stand in Aaagh of all Mná season runs from Monday October 18 to Sunday 31 with screenings of The Love Witch, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, The Babadook, Revenge, Pet Sematary, Ravenous, Raw, Jennifer’s Body, The Hitch-Hiker, and American Psycho.
“We are living in an exciting time for women filmmakers,” said Pálás programmer Charlene Lydon, “so this Halloween we wanted to take a look at some recent horror films directed by women as well as some older classics and celebrate the work of women within the genre. This is by no means a definitive list but a small season of films that we love, selected from a very long list.”
