As many as one in four Irish people have experienced some form of sexual violence in their lifetimes, according to recent studies.
Sexual violence can have psychological, emotional, and physical effects on an individual. However, with the right help and support these effects can be managed and the healing process can begin. Support for those who have experienced sexual violence is available from the Galway Rape Crisis Centre.
