The Opacas - new artist video and piano version of ‘Outta Time’

Galway/Leeds ‘virtual band’ collaborate with Connemara based artist Aoife Dowd

THE OPACAS, the Galway/Leeds ‘virtual band’ who kept spirits up during the lockdowns with their songs and videos, have released a new collaboration with Connemara based artist Aoife Dowd.

A new video for the band’s summer single, ‘Outta Time’ - this time in a jazz piano style version - has been released, and which features 25 images of Aoife’s work.

Aoife is originally from Carna but now lives in Oughterard. Her paintings draw inspiration from the landscape, light, and atmosphere of Connemara. Her work is in collections across Europe and North America.

“I received an email asking if I would be interested in doing a collaborative video with The Opacas,” said Aoife. “I looked at some of what they produced with other artists and was delighted to take part.”

The Opacas have released acoustic piano versions of their previous releases on YouTube and have showcased the work of painters Jin Yong (https://jinyongart.ie/ ), Patrick Kinneally (http://www.patrickkenneallyart.ie/ ) and Emma Cownie (https://emmafcownie.com/ ). They have also showcased the work of photographers Chaosheng Zhang and Rebecca Harris.
