Cheevers calls for public toilets for Merlin Woods

Councillor says funding is available to City Hall for construction of such a facility

Public toilets urgently need to be constructed for Merlin Woods, especially as the nearest convenience is 10 minutes away in Doughiska Park.

This is the view of Fianna Fáíl Galway City East councillor, Alan Cheevers, who said the toilets would be welcomed by walkers, visitors, and those who use the allotment.

“Merlin Woods is a fantastic amenity for the area and the allotments have proved to be very popular with local residents but we need the proper services,” he said. “I am calling on the Galway City Council to introduce toilets as soon as possible and funding is available.”
