Exhibition to explore psychological effects of social media

Mark Keaveney’s My Social Bubble will run at the Kinvara Courthouse

“MODERN TECHNOLOGY provides many benefits as well as potentially harmful results. There is a significant grey area to be found when approaching peoples' mental health and these handheld devices.”

This is the view of artist Mark Keaveney, whose latest exhibition, My Social Bubble, will be presented by KAVA in the Kinvara Courthouse from tomorrow, Friday September 24 to Sunday October 3. His work examines the psychological effects of social media.

This exhibition will be supported by Kinvara Alive, a local group that promotes well-being and mental health.

.

“As part of Kinvara Alive's mission to raise awareness about wellbeing and Mental health, we encourage people to come to the exhibition and come to their own conclusions,” said Kinvara Alive spokesperson, Sean Glynn. “We invite the younger members of our community to visit this powerful exhibition as social media plays a much larger part of their daily lives.”

Gallery opening times are 11am to 4pm daily. Kinvara Alive will have literature available on training and a range of mental health supports for the duration of the exhibition. See www.KinvaraAlive.com and www.kava.ie
