Immortal - new family musical at the Town Hall

Morgan creative explores Irish mythology and the Civil War in this new show

A DAUGHTER goes in search of her missing father, but her journey away from their home in Tír na nÓg results in her being stranded in the Ireland of the Civil War.

This is Immortal, the new musical from Galway theatre company, Morgan Creative, which will be performed at the Town Hall Theatre from Wednesday September 22 to Friday 24 at 8pm.

The product of five years' work, Immortal was written by Jake and Luke Morgan [pictured below] and features 12 original songs, which seek to combine local history and Celtic traditions in a modern way.

After Oisín leaves Tír na nÓg, Plur, with the help of her friend Choppy, sets off on a perilous journey to find him. They cross the sea to a land she has heard spoken about only in stories - Ireland, only to arrive as the War of Independence draws to a close and as the Civil War begins to brew.

While there, she encounters a group of young rebels intent on storming Renmore Barracks, but her main question remains to be answered.: Will she manage to find her father, and bring him home before it is too late?
