Walk-in vaccination clinics in Galway for over 12s opens today

Clinic opens in Ballybrit on Wednesday September 1, Saturday September 4, and Sunday September 5

Anyone aged 12 and older, who has not yet received their first vaccine dose, can go to the walk-in vaccination clinic in Galway today and get their vaccine.

Those waiting for their second dose Pfizer vaccine may also attend one of the walk-in clinics, once the interval between doses has been reached. All Covid-19 vaccines are free of charge.

Times and dates

The walk-in vaccination clinic is located in Ballybrit and operating times are as follows:

Wednesday September 1, 4pm to 7pm. Pfizer dose 1 for age 12 or older. Pfizer dose 2 for anyone who received their first dose before August 12.

Saturday September 4: 8.30am to 12.30pm. Pfizer dose 1 for age 12 or older. Pfizer dose 2 for anyone who received their first dose before August 15.

Sunday September 5: 8.30am to 12.30pm. Pfizer dose 1 for age 12 or older. Pfizer dose 2 for anyone who received their first dose before 16 August.

What to bring

Those receiving their first dose vaccine, should bring with them their PPS number, proof of address (household bill, bank or financial institution statement, letter from a public service department or agency, etc ), Eircode, mobile phone number, email address, and a photo ID which includes date of birth.

Those aged between 12 and 15 need prenatal consent to be vaccinated, and will need a form of identification with their date of birth on it (eg, passport or birth certificate ).. Parents must go with their children to the walk-in clinic. If a 12 to 15 year old does not have any identification, the adult who brings them to their appointment can confirm their identity and their age.

Those getting their second dose must bring proof of their first dose (eg, vaccination record card ) and have a photo ID.

The Mayor of Galway, Green Party Galway City Central councillor, Martina O'Connor, has welcomed the opening of the walk in clinic, and is encouraging all members of the public to get vaccinated.
