Plenty of goals in national underage leagues

Four Galway United and two Galway WFC teams are in action this weekend

It was another encouraging weekend for Galway United's U14 outfit who cruised to an emphatic win over Longford Town.

Having produced an accomplished performance in Wednesday's success over Dundalk, Xavi Vazquez's team maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign.

Prompted by several of Mervue United's U13 Irish Cup winning side from last year, this is a particularly exciting crop of players.

Five victories and a draw have been posted from six matches with 24 goals struck by a talented squad.

Zach Lawless 3, Jacob Carroll 2, Steven Jennings 2, and Denis Sirbu all struck for United, who travel to Dundalk at the weekend.

Anthony O'Neill's U15s are now unbeaten in five league matches following an impressive success over Longford in the midlands.

Jack Weesjes 2, Dara Kavanagh, Adam Lavelle, Donnacha Sammon, and Evan Moran all scored for United, who face Dundalk next.

Martin Devlin's United U17s were involved in a lively 3-3 draw with Wexford at Ferrycarrig Park.

James Lukua, Eneke Unorka, and Milo O'Malley netted for United, who host UCD on Saturday.

At U19 level United suffered a 1-0 loss to Wexford with Brendan O'Connor's side away to Waterford FC on Sunday.

Phil Trill's Galway WFC U17s overpowered Athlone Town at Lissywollen on Saturday evening.

Elisha Bohan, Ciara Coen, and Aoibheann Costello scored for Galway WFC, who are away to Donegal on Saturday.
