The Little Cinema & Galway City of Film 48 Hour Challenge is celebrating its fifth iteration this year on the weekend of August 26-29.
Up to 10 teams will take part to each make a five minute short film in just 48 hours. Each film will have to incorporate a line, genre and prop assigned by the organisers which is given to them at the launch on Thursday August 26.
The films will be shown via a live stream on Sunday August 29 and a panel of judges will decide which film wins the top prize of €500 for the best film. Prizes will also be given for best actor, best actress, cinematography, best editing, best special effects, best use of prop and best use of line.
Teams from all over Ireland can take part in the event with a refundable €50 deposit taken to book spaces. Each team can have up to 10 members and the organisers advocate for gender balance, diversity and inclusion of those underrepresented in the film industry across the teams who apply for the 48 Hour Challenge.
The Little Cinema & Galway City of Film 48 Hour Challenge is an initiative of the Galway City of Film and funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
