Local welcome for Merlin Castle restoration

Community welcomes works which will ‘protect our local heritage’

The Merlin Residents Association welcomes the beginning of the restoration and protection works at Merlin castle.

Community activist and Merlin Residents Association chair, Donal Lynch, has thanked The Friends of Merlin Woods, for “calling for these works to be done to protect our local heritage”, and Dr Jim Higgins, the heritage officer of the Galway City Council, for “putting so much work and time towards this development”.

Mr Lynch also thanked Galway City Central councillor, Frank Fahy for “securing funding in the previous city council budget so this work could commence”.
