New exhibition from leading Galway women artists

New work from Jay Murphy, Dolores Lyne, Leonie King, Margaret Irwin, and Sioban Piercy

AIMSITHE (discovered ) is the third Exhibition of Summer 2021 from Oughterard Courthouse Arts Programme and will feature the work of County Galway artists collective AKIN.

The new works by AKIN - Jay Murphy, Dolores Lyne, Leonie King, Margaret Irwin, and Sioban Piercy - will be on display from Friday July 30 from 4.30pm to 7.30pm and continue to Sunday August 8.

The exhibition is a response to the research of local archaeologist and historian Bill Daly, who has traced the history of Oughterard back to neolithic times.

AKIN was formed to bring together a group of artists based in rural Galway to discuss and share ideas and to provide a resource and a platform for showcasing their work. For more than 25 years they have been a significant part of the cultural map of Galway, individually and as a group.

After the opening day, the gallery opening times will be 10am to 5pm, Mondays to Saturdays, and 12 noon to 5pm on Sundays. See www.ocap.ie
