Galway singer-songwriter to perform live in Paris

A Lilac Decline to play the Centre Culturel Irlandais in September

A LILAC Decline - the musical alter-ego of visual artist Cecilia Danell - will play a live gig, outdoors at the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris, as part of Culture Night.

Danell's exhibition, Mise En Scène, opens at the centre on September 17 and will be launched with a performance by A Lilac Decline in the courtyard of the venue. She will be joined by Keith Wallace on bass and Brian Kelly of So Cow on drums.

She will perform songs from her two albums, The Mountain Rages (2017 ) and Shelter From The Shadows (2020 ), both of which were released on the independent, Galway based label, Rusted Rail.

"As it wasn't possible to play gigs to launch my second album," said Danell, "I am really delighted to have been invited to play at Centre Culturel Irlandais, coinciding with Irish Culture Night, and mine and Eamon O'Kane's exhibition launching in the CCI gallery. The gig will be a Covid-compliant safe event. I can't wait to play these songs live with a band!"
