Power tools stolen in city burglary

Sometime between 11pm on Thursday July 15 and 8am on Friday July 16 a garage at the side of a house on the Dublin Road, Renmore was broken into.

During the course of the break in a number of power tools were taken. These power tools include a Bosch combi-drill, a Bosch hammer drill, a Bosch screw gun along with an angle grinder.

Gardaí in Galway are asking anyone who may have seen any person acting suspiciously in the Dublin Road area of Renmore anytime between Thursday night or Friday morning or anyone who may have been offered any of these power tools for sale to contact them at Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.

Criminal damage to Westside Library

Gardaí in Galway are appealing for witnesses after vandals sprayed graffiti on the exterior walls of Westside Library, Seamus Quirke Road. The incident occurred at around 2.20pm on Sunday July 11.

One male along with two females were observed at the library at the time the damage was caused. The male is described as being in his late teens to early twenties. He was wearing a grey tracksuit top with black pants and had black hair. The first female is described as being in her late teens to early twenties wearing a black top with black pants, white trainers and she had black hair tied in a ponytail.

The second female is described as being in her late teens to early twenties wearing a black skirt, a grey T-shirt with a pink tracksuit top. She had long straight black hair.

Gardaí are anxious to speak with the three individuals described and are asking anyone who may have been in the area around the Westside Library on Sunday afternoon July 11 and may have witnessed this damage being caused or anyone who may have any information in relation to the incident or any of the people described to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.

Garda probe spate of Claregalway thefts

Sometime between 10pm on Friday July 16 and 10am on Saturday morning July 17 a red Ford car was broken into in Claregalway village and some items taken from the vehicle.

Also in Claregalway village, between 10.30pm on Saturday night the July 17 and 10am on Sunday July 18 two further vehicles were broken into. The first a silver Toyota car was parked in Church View, Claregalway. This car was broken into and some personal items taken from the vehicle.

The second vehicle a silver Renault Megane was parked in Cuirt Na hAbhainn, Claregalway. This car was broken into and a brown leather purse along with some personal items taken from the vehicle.

Gardaí in Loughgeorge are asking anyone that was in Claregalway village on Friday or Saturday night and may have seen anything unusual or anyone with any information that could help with the investigation to contact them at Loughgeorge Garda Station on 091-798122.

On Thursday July 15 at around 4pm a blue Toyota Corolla hatchback was broken into when parked in the disabled bay at the Lidl Store, Limerick Road, Oranmore. Some personal items were taken from the vehicle at the time of the break in.

Gardaí in Oranmore are appealing to anyone who may have seen this theft take place or anyone who may have been in the Lidl carpark at that time and may have noticed anything to contact Oranmore Garda Station on 091-388030.

Public assistance on locating missing man

Gardaí are seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of John Sheehan who was last seen in the Renmore area. John Sheehan is 41 years of age.

He is of slim build and is 5 feet nine inches in height. He is bald on top with tight hair at the back and sides with hazel/dark green eyes.

Gardaí and John’s family are very concerned for his welfare and “would urge him to make contact”.
