Hoare welcomes maintenance and cleaning works on Seamus Quirke Road

FG councillor calls for more funding to be allocated to improve the Browne Roundabout

The start of surface maintenance and cleaning works along Seamus Quirke Road has been welcomed by Fine Gael Galway City Central councillor, Eddie Hoare.

Cllr Hoare said: “I have made a number of representations in relation to this project and having consulted with the environment department of the Galway City Council was pleased to receive confirmation that works have now commenced.

"This route is used by thousands of locals and commuters on a daily basis and it is vitally important that this stretch is consistently maintained all year round."

Now Cllr Hoare wants more funding to be allocated to improve the Browne Roundabout.

“I have raised this a number of times in the past and continue to do so," he added. "Browne Roundabout deserves the same budget allocation as other roundabouts in Galway city and I intend to raise this later in the year when allocating budgets for 2022.

He concluded: "This is a main thoroughfare for road users in Galway and a larger budgetary allocation would ensure it is maintained and landscaped more regularly."
