‘FLOATING’, THE new single by Galway/Spanish indie singer-songwriter, Uisce Jones, will be released on Friday July 23.
‘Floating’, a moody, psychedelic, summer song, mixing guitar riffs and layered synths, is the fourth single from the 17-year-old, following his May 2020 debut, ‘Shaken Up’, and the subsequent singles ‘In Love’, and ‘Flooding My Mind’.
He describes the new single as a song about “finding it hard to forget someone you loved while trying to move on”. It also marks something of a change in direction and a slight move away from the indie-rock sound of his previous releases.
Inspired by Sonic Youth, Clairo, and rising Galway indio band, NewDad, Uisce’s music has been played on KCLR and Flirt FM.
“Music has alway been a really big part of my life, and a whole way of expressing myself without judgment,” he says. “I grew up surrounded by musicians and creatives. I started writing songs when I was 13 and it’s been one of the most rewarding things.”
