Minister of State at the Department of Transport, and Fine Gael Galway West TD, Hildegarde Naughton [pictured above], welcomed the funds, saying it was an acknowledgement of the “important services” the organisations provide.
“These groups achieve their time and resources so generously, and their efforts have seldom been so important to those who benefit from them since the onset of the pandemic,” she said. “They will be well placed to play an important role in the social and economic recovery as we continue to emerge from the pandemic.”
