These are encouraging times for John Caulfield's team

These are encouraging times for Galway United, who earned a fifth SSE Aitricity League first division win on the spin at Eamonn Deacy Park.

Goals from Ruairi Keating and Wilson Waweru ensured John Caulfield's charges prevailed in the west.

Cobh Ramblers were rugged and determined, but United, with Gary Boylan immense, dictated the contest.

Keating converted a 13th minute penalty for his seventh goal of a productive campaign.

Seven minutes after the restart Waweru added a second from an awkward angle as United closed out the game in diligent fashion.

A trip to the Carlisle Grounds for a clash with Bray Wanderers is next on the agenda for a rapidly improving United.
